We are a volunteer organization that has been in operation since March, 2009 and we rely soley on donations. The OKC Pet Food Bank currently has 25 donation sites at retail and business locations in and around OKC where donors may drop off food. The food is then taken to either the OKC Animal Shelter or the Britvil Community Food Pantry for distribution. Our mission is to provide short term or emergency assistance to pet owners who, because of a variety of reasons, are facing tough choices. By assisting these Oklahomans, we hope to reduce the number of animals abandoned or surrendered to the OKC Animal Shelter because they cannot be fed. Even though they may be struggling, our priority is to keep owners with their beloved pets. Any person who needs help is asked to call us and provide basic information regarding their needs. We always discuss spaying and neutering with clients. We also provide information about low cost or free spaying, neutering, and vaccination events sponsored by various organizations. We hope you'll take a tour of our site and find what you're looking for!

The Bella Foundation's Adoption Coordinator was driving to meet a potential adopter and she witnessed a small orange kitten laying on the side of I-240. She and her husband pulled over, rescued the kitten and took it to Neel Veterinary Hospital. Currently the kitten is stable with a concussion, bruising around the eyes and some abrasion from the road. He is also suffering ear mites and parasites. The Bella Foundation needs your help in finding this kitten a home and with the cost of treatment. If you or someone you know would like to foster this kitten while we find a forever home where it will never be tossed away again, please email Eric McCune at emccune_thebellafoundation.org .
If you have any information regarding this kitten, please email The Bella Foundation at info_thebellafoundation.org .
We do not have any lost pets to post at this time. We are willing to post any lost or found animals on our site, in hopes of reuniting them with their owners. Just simply email us your pet's description, along with a photo, and we will post the information.
This beagle or beagle mix was found on 23rd Street next to Big Truck Tacos on August 17, 2010. He has a red collar and a flea collar, but no tags. He was taken to the veternarian and doesn't have a microchip. Please help him find his way home! call 787-379-0938 email

The OKC Pet Food Bank would like to thank all of its donors. We receive calls each day from people asking for help and your support makes this program possible. We appreciate your generosity! Your support today means that we can continue to feed Oklahoma's needy animals, which helps reduce the number of animals abandoned or surrendered to shelters because their owners cannot afford to feed them. No one wants to see pets become a casualty of the recession. Once again, on behalf of all the families and animals who receive assistance from us,

The OKC Pet Food Bank started just like many other organizations do, as a dream. A few of Oklahoma City's animal advocates recognized a need for a program that would help low-income families and struggling Oklahomans feed their beloved pets. They put their heads together and thought of a plan to keep pets from becoming victims of the recession. Just like traditional food banks, their "Pet Food Bank" would rely solely on donated food and would serve those who were otherwise unable to feed their pets for a variety of reasons. They decided their mission would be to provide short term or emergency assistance to people who have lost their jobs, have had health issues, or whatever reason may be keeping them from purchasing the pet food they need. In March, 2009, their dream became a reality and they began collecting food from around the city and distributing it from the OKC Animal Shelter. Within a few months, Britvil Community Food Pantry was added as a second distribution site. The majority of the food was, and continues to be donated by generous Oklahomans who love animals and wish to support the program. In July, 2009, they were approved to receive periodic donations of dog and cat food from the Regional Food Bank. Since that time they have received approximately 6,282 lbs. of dog food, cat food, and related pet care items from the Regional Food Bank.
